Commission a Painting
I provide a flexible, personalised service working from photos and sketches. You can provide your own photos for me to work from (please see below for tips on taking photos that will give the best results for your painting). I will contact you to discuss your requirements in detail and once we have planned the style, size, materials and time frame I will confirm a price quotation. If you are happy with the quotation, I can get the painting started upon payment of a 50% deposit.
If you are local to me (South Northants, North Oxfordshire area) I am happy to visit and take my own photos. For portraits and pet portraits it is especially helpful to meet the subject and get to know them a little. If this is not possible, please let me have information about their character and quirks when we chat.
Guide to charges:
I am also able to arrange framing if required.
UK postage £10.00
I am happy to work in larger sizes and other media: watercolour, pen and wash, acrylics, graphite etc. and will tailor any quotation to your requirements.
Payment is upon satisfactory completion of the painting prior to collection/delivery.
Tips for taking photos for me to work from:
I need good, clear, high resolution pictures. If you are providing printed pictures rather than emailing, larger photo sizes are better. The photos should be taken outside in natural light, without a flash. Choose a bright day, but try not to take pictures of people or animals in full sunlight as they might squint – the eyes should be open and bright. Take the photo at the subject's eye level. Ensure that I can see as much detail as possible in the photo and make sure you get the pose you want portrayed in the finished painting. Please contact me if you need any further guidance.
